Tomás Ó Dálaigh [1907-1989]

'Tom na hlnise' or 'Tom of the Island' as he was known, was one of the Dalys of Inis Vickillaun, and a brother of 'Deálaí'. Skilled with his hands, he was one of the Island's best naomhóg makers and fiddle players. His version of Port na bPúcaí, the Island's most famous air, is regarded as being one of the best. His playing was influenced by Sean Maguire, one of Ireland's greatest contemporary virtuoso fiddle players.
